Amy Winehouse to Live Permanently in St Lucia?

Amy WinehouseAmy Winehouse is to make St Lucia her permanent residence.

The British singer has been vacationing on the Caribbean island for the past six months.

And she has reportedly told pals she plans to live there for good.

“Amy loves St Lucia and never wants to leave,” a source told Britain’s News of The World newspaper. “She thinks the island has done her the world of good and she’s writing more than ever.”

Amy, 25, has lodged a residency application with island chiefs.

“We are aware of Amy wanting to live here on a permanent basis. We have received an application and are looking into it,” confirmed an island official.

Earlier this week, St Lucia’s former government ‘mouthpiece’ Jeff Fedee branded the Rehab singer a bad role model.

“Those who sing the praises of Amy Winehouse are missing the point: she is not a good model for St Lucian citizens, particularly the youth, despite the music,” he writes in local newspaper the St Lucia Star.

“Which begs the question: what positive message is Amy Winehouse conveying to the young people out there?”
