Cameron Diaz: ‘Surfing Makes me Feel Close to God’

Cameron DiazCameron Diaz loves surfing — because it makes her feel “in touch” with God.

The My Sister’s Keeper star is a mad wave rider having learned to surf while shooting Charlie’s Angels.

And Cameron says she has to keep up her beach fun to satisfy her spiritual as well as thrill-seeking needs.

“It’s funny everyone sees me as a surfer girl because I grew up in California but as a child I never surfed because I had no one to teach me and I didn¹t even have a surf board,” says Cameron. “I love it now though. It’s very spiritual for me. It’s like being directly in touch with God. It’s so healing and amazing.”

Diaz, 36, recently revealed what she’s looking for in a boyfriend.

“What’s changed from 10 years ago is that now I want a man who knows who he is,” said Cameron, who used to date singer Justin Timberlake. “Someone who understands himself, has already dealt with his issues and who can say, ‘I see where I’ve been foolish before and I’m not going to be like that again’.”

    Hey Cameron, I feel the same way you do about surfing, it’s too bad we don’t move in the same social circle because I would love to date you (fan of your films, and you’re hot!). Seriously, it is encouraging that although being part of such a superficial world (hollywood), you still have an awareness about what is meaningful, and fun, worth doing (surfing), let’s hang out at the north shore…
