Robert Pattinson can add another title to his belt — Sexiest Man on The Planet!

The 23-year-old Twilight star was chosen by readers of Britain’s Heat magazine, beating Hollywood heavyweights including Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Zac Efron to the title.

“Robert is obviously very easy on the eye, but a lot of his popularity has to be down to the character Edward he plays in Twilight — strong, brooding and tortured, basically most women’s fantasy boyfriend,” said the magazine’s editor, Julian Linley.

Pattinson reprises his role as Edward Cullen in Twilight sequel New Moon, which hits movie theaters later this year.

The British star — who is currently filming his new movie, Remember Me, in New York — recently revealed that he doesn’t see himself as a heartthrob.

“I’m so surprised things have actually worked out the way they have,” he said, adding that he’s not worried about being typecast as a love interest. “I am just thinking the whole time: ‘I don’t really have the right personality to fit into that kind of role’.

“I’m not really afraid of it though because I don’t really know how to play up that aspect of it. I don’t know if I could ever really be cast in a heartthrob role really — apart from Twilight, which I didn’t really know was a heartthrob role. I really don’t feel I am one.”
