Chris Brown is getting serious about making a musical comeback.

The 20-year-old singer has roped in Britney Spears‘ crisis team to help with his new record. He’s joined forces with Keri Hilson, the brains behind Britney’s comeback album Blackout.

“He contacted me four or five days ago,” Keri told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper. “It is unfortunate what they are going through, but I feel if you’ve ever had a fan base, you’re really only one song away from appeasing that fan base.”

On Monday, Brown was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community labor in Virginia. He pleaded guilty to felony assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury.

He also been ordered to stay at least 50 yards away from ex-girlfriend Rihanna (who he allegedly assaulted) — except at industry events, when it’s 10 yards — despite a request from the Umbrella hitmaker’s lawyer that the pair be allowed to be in the same place at the same time.
