This is the last ever photo of the late Michael Jackson, obtained by US TV show Entertainment Tonight.Michael Jackson

But was the superstar dead in the pic? Reports have suggested that Jackson, 50, had passed away at his Los Angeles home after paramedics failed to revive him.

Jackson reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest Thursday afternoon at his Holmby Hills mansion and paramedics were unable to bring him back round.

When paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back, according to TMZ. Jackson was apparently dead when paramedics arrived.

Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive. Jackson’s sister La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.

The star was due to begin a series of comeback concerts with an appearance at London’s O2 arena on July 13.

He had a history of health problems and had not completed a concert tour in 12 years.

Jackson had three children — Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II.

Jackson’s body has been flown to the L.A. County Coroner’s Office. His autopsy is scheduled to take place Friday.

It has also been reported that Jackson passed a recent physical, and his death is to be investigated by police.

    Yes, that photo is apparently authentic and shows Michael Jackson as he was being rushed to the hospital.

    As to whether or not it shows him dead, that depends on how you define ‘dead’. He went into cardiac arrest at his home (his heart stopped and he stopped breathing). This can qualify a person as ‘clinically dead’ but they’re not necessarily dead if they can be revived.

    He was given CPR and presumably a defibrillator was used, but he never regained a pulse or started breathing again. At the hospital, after additional attempts, he was pronounced dead. In this picture, he would not be officially dead because the death certificate had not been filed yet, but he was past the point of any resuscitation at the time (they just didn’t know it and gave it what they count)

    At this point some of the cells and tissue in his body may still be functional because of the artificial administration of oxygen, and some tissue can stay “alive” for hours after death or longer, but the limiting factor would be the brain, which was most probably completely dead at this point. It’s impossible to be sure though, because they didn’t have an EEG readout, but chances are it was either totally shut down or may have had some residual neurological activity but the higher functions would be totally gone.

He was an icon, father, son, brother and much more…..this is very disrespectful of you to post this picture. Please take this picture off of the net and let his family mourn their loss.     I always believed this is how it would end for this poor soul. A child at heart living in an aging man’s body and needy and dependent on all kinds of devices to keep him in a supernatural state so he could be all he could to his fans – never to waiver. I truly believe in all my heart that his physical abuse began as a young child and never experienced any sort of normalcy that we take for granted. His love was so immense for kids as he was a grown adult because he was like Peter Pan – he just never wanted to grow up.     Let’s be realistic here. Although it can’t be denied that the media machine twists public opinion, too many facts of his actions and dealing with children pointed to the fact that he molested lots of little boys. His only saving graces to keep him out of prison were his money and fame, which bought immunity from some corrupt parents through his lawyers….indeed, they were mostly poor families who were paid in the first place for the use of their children.
    Those who can’t wrap their heads around the fact that rich celebrities can buy their way out of criminal charges should pause and remember the OJ fiasco.
    I know he had some good tunes a couple of decades back, but why do so many fawn over him as if he weren’t the monster he was? Is it because we remember him as we thought he was when we were innocent kids in the ’80s, combined with the old hypocrisy of over-eulogizing the dead? It would seem so.
    Other than the fact that a pedophile lives no longer, at least two other good things have happened from this…Jesse Jackson is too tied up in it to bother meddling in Iran, and those MJ bubblegum collector card packs I bought up for 5cents each at BigLots, when I was a kid, will sell to some idiot mourner on Ebay for big $!!!!!!!

    MJ is undoubtedly a legendary icon. He is the epitome of true entertainment and a true humanitarian. In some ways we had let him down. We jumped on the band wagon when he was riding high, but we tour him down when all sought to tear him to pieces. We failed to see him for who he really is. Indeed he’s a once in a lifetime individual there will never be one like him. We had waited too long to give him his honour while he was alive. In death only a memorial could do him justice but i think he is worth more and we fail to see that death had a bearing on us all but we never remembered that MJ is one of a kind and can be taken away from us at anytime. I believed the fact that he is dead is not the issue but we were not ready to let him go. Had he been ailing for sometime or had he passed on 15 or 20 years from now we would have dealt with it better. Now he’s gone we just have to accept it and let him rest in peace. NO ONE, and I repeat, NO ONE is to judge The KING of POP on his life based on rumors from others. This I do have to say, was the most appreciated and heartsome and loving memorial of all time that I can remember in my life time. People RESPECTED his memorial, and respected the family. As many people have in their hearts that Michael Jackson will always be alive in our hearts, and he will never die off.

    And I must personally say from these reports. That I think sum1 killed him. You don’t just say, ” I want to make a comeback in my music career” and use dangeruous drugs and know that they could kill you.

It’s Gods decision for the happenings and the reasons of why , what we believe and love has to go so soon. His new Title for his Cd is ” This Is It”. He had all his dreams come true and he lived his life as hard as he could without failing. And I believe God played a big part in his coming home to heaven. Wether it be someone who may have killed him or it be natural or by use of certain items, GOD played a part in this. I think it was the best thing for him, he can truly live life with no pain at all.

    I have several points to make: #1 Why should MJ or his family be afforded the privacy of his picture not being shown when the “ordinary” family goes through that all of the time? You always see pictures of dead children and mourning parents that the media takes. Why should this “icon” be treated any differently….#2 I have a hard time believing that is a picture of MJ. Take a good look at the nose if nothing else..MJ’s nose was pointed and had no bridge…that is not MJ’s nose. #3 Why is it that once someone dies, it no longer matters what his private life was all about? Drug addict….child molester…..why else did he pay 20 MILLION dollars to the FIRST family that accused him? #4 Why with all the people attending to him.. at the scene, at the hospital etc was there not one picture of him?     And for those who keep calling him a junkie. People don’t choose to get hooked on prescription drugs. There were proscribed for a medical reason. Those who know he was hooked should have helped him instead of trying to once again make a buck off of him. Michael was a human being just like everyone else Rich or Not. He put his trust in the wrong hands. Most people who are on drugs don’t use good judgment they only think about the next fix not wanting to feel withdraws. They hide what they are going through and feeling with family because they are in trouble and sometimes feel embarrassed. These people who gave him these medications should not be allowed to practice medicine ever again. Yes, Michael was partially responsible for his own death but not completely. Yeah he made the choice to take this medication but it was these doctors last word to make that descion for him. They took an oath when they became doctors. They should have contacted his family about his addiction and forced him to into rehab weather Michael liked it or not. He was in a bad situation and they took advantage of him not making right choices. In the end he would have been thankful for those who really cared about him they had his back to help him get better. It’s the same as you wouldn’t let a friend drive drunk if you were a true friend or a moral person. Michael had a lot to deal with and people took advantage of him when he was down. No wonder he found comfort with prescription drugs. It made him feel numb trying to rest and escape all the negative things people have said about him.
    I saw 20/20 episode he did have vitaligo they showed pictures of him holding up his pants legs up with white spots all over him. He wasn’t trying to be white. He just had money to make it all one color. Too bad there isn’t anything to help people reverse this skin disease. I guess maybe if he had someone to spray him with brown make up people would still talk negative about that too. So what he had plastic surgery, plenty of people in show business did. It didn’t matter if he denied it or not that’s his body. I don’t hear people interviewing other people in show business asking if they had breast implants. It’s no one business. This man was screwed from day one when he was accused of molesting children. As far as his sexuality preference who cares. If he was gay or not it didn’t mean he was a pervert out hurt children. Ok maybe he made some bad choices to make it seem that way but it doesn’t really mean he was a pervert. This man is gone let him Rest in Peace. And those accused him in wrong doings well get theirs in the end. What goes around comes around.     I have just heard on ET/16-07-09, an interview with Joe Jackson commenting that the childrens grandmother (can’t think of her name at the moment) and he want to raise Michaels’ children. I think he should stay out of it and say nothing more. Michael didn’t want him to help or raise those poor little mites or he would have named him in the will as guardian. Just by merely mentioning that he would be involved could put the grandmothers chances of obtaining custody in jeopardy. If a judge hears that he will be involved in any way in raising those children she could lose custody.
