Michael Jackson‘s family is already gearing up for a fierce custody with the late star’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe — she wants her kids back.

Rowe remains the legal parent to Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, her two children with the late star.

Rowe apparently told a friend she wanted full custody of the youngsters — two days before Jacko’s death.

“Debbie threw a fit, saying she was sick of the way Michael was bringing the children up,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

“She said she was going to go for full custody of them. She said she was quite prepared to go all the way and fight him in court for it.”

Rowe wed Jackson in 1996 (he was a patient in the dermatologist’s office, where she worked as a nurse). They divorced in 1999, but during their custody fight, she agreed to give up her parental rights, insisting Jackson was a good father.

Sources close to the Jackson family say Jacko’s elderly mum Katherine will “fight tooth and nail” to stop Debbie getting the youngsters.

They claim the former dental nurse signed away her parental rights in return for a house and a multi-million dollar lump sum.

“She understands there will be a vicious legal battle and she knows Michael’s mother will not readily hand the kids over to her,” the source added.

“But she is their natural mother and will do whatever it takes to get them back.”

“Michael’s mother is almost 80, Debbie doesn’t want them to lose their father and then their grandmother.

“Debbie has always stayed in touch with them and Michael.

“It’s an odd relationship but then everything connected to Michael is odd.”

Sources close to the Jacksons blasted Debbie, saying: “This is someone who signed away her parental rights for a lump sum and a house.

“She has rarely seen the children since they were born. They have been brought up completely by Michael and his family.

“The Jackson family will share responsibility of them.

“The children themselves will want to remain with the people they know and love.”

Debbie originally signed an agreement with Jacko handing him custody of the kids in 1999.

In return she was given about $1 million a year for nine years, plus a house in Beverly Hills and a car.

She was allowed to see the kids once every 45 days.

Jackson died Thursday after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. He was 50.
