Bradley Cooper has played down rumors of a romance between himself and Jennifer Aniston — insisting the pair is just good friends.

The Hangover star and the former Friends actress were recently spotted enjoying a romantic date in New York City. Throughout the three-hour meal, the pair shared food and wine, laughed at one another’s jokes and “acted like two kids falling in love,” Star magazine recently reported. “I went over to say hi to them, and I noticed they were holding hands under the table because they let go to shake my hand,” an eyewitness told the mag.

Jen and Brad originally met doing a fundraiser at the Beverly Hills Hotel when Bradley was still married to actress Jennifer Esposito (they divorced after four months of marriage in early 2007).

But Cooper is adamant his relationship with Aniston is purely platonic.

“She’s a friend of mine. Simply, simply, just a friend,” he told People magazine.

“In America, its not like it is [in France]. She’s someone who is super, super known. Famous. If someone says ‘hello’ to her, it’s given that he’s fallen in love with her. So, no. No. She’s a very, very interesting woman, but she’s simply a friend.

“We made a film together” – He’s Just Not That Into You – “but we didn’t have any scenes together. I got hired in at the beginning of the casting, and my part was solely with Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Connelley. Which isn’t bad at all.”
