Michael Jackson’s three children — Michael Joseph, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine and Prince “Blanket” Michael II — want to stay with their grandparents, it was claimed Saturday.
Jackson, 50, died Thursday after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the tragic star’s kids will continue to live with Katherine Jackson at the family’s Encino home.
The Jackson family is said to be 100 percent behind the decision — feeling that Katherine and Joe Jackson “are the only people who can help the children understand who their father was, help them grieve, and teach them to deal with life in the spotlight,” a source said.
TMZ also says the kids are healthy but, as expected, they “miss their daddy.”
Earlier today, Showbiz Spy reported that Jackson wanted his mother to raise his children if anything ever happened to him.
Joe and Katherine Jackson’s attorney, Debra Opri, told RadarOnline, “Katherine will be the custodial parent for the kids. It was understood that Katherine is the best person to take care of the children as she can provide a stable, loving environment for the kids. The children will remain with Katherine, and she should raise them.
“I believe she [Wacko's ex-wife Debbie Rowe] surrendered her custodial rights to the children, but I’m sure that this will eventually be heard in court or arbitration.”
It has also been claimed that Rowe wants custody of Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, her two children with the late star.
“She said she was going to go for full custody of them,” a source said. “She said she was quite prepared to go all the way and fight him in court for it.”
