Adam LambertAdam Lambert has his eyes on the money!

The American Idol runner-up says he can’t wait to bank his first big paycheck.

“I’m looking forward to banking that paycheck,” he told People magazine. “I’m not going to lie, I mean, that’s not my first priority, but, you know, I think for all of us, having gone through experience, to be able to walk away with some financial security in these tough times is really nice.”

One the vibe of his new album, “It’s really about finding the sound that I want to communicate my ideas to people. On Idol, you’re doing cover music that’s tried and true material. I went the route of doing a lot of classic rock because I knew that that was the more vocal and it was songs that everybody connected with. In creating new material, I want to do something modern that will stand the test of time, and something that’s new. I’m being careful not to stay stuck in that sound, because it could end up being dated. So, I’m going to try to take the best musically from that era and make it mix with modern pop electronic production. It should be really different.”

The reaction to his Rolling Stone cover, “The response that I’ve felt is mostly positive support, so I think that’s great. It’s a testament to us really trying to become a bit more progressive and focus on what really matters which is that I’m an entertainer and a singer and that’s what it really needs to be about. My private life really has nothing to do with my ability to entertain.”

How he’ll pass the time on a crowded tour bus, “Definitely iPod. You know, escape in music is the best way to kind of be in your own little world. Books as well, I’ll probably grab some books.

“I’m such a music junky. I have everything all the time. You name it, I’ve downloaded it.”

    Hey, you can’t blame him. I’d be running to the bank too. Aint no shame in his game! Haha, and I agree with cles2009. I think he will be responsible with his money and not blow it all away. He already said he’s gonna buy a house at the end of the year, which is a good move right now in this economy.

    I’m super proud of Adam! He’s gone so far already. From the way he sounds in the many interviews that I have read, he is ready for the super star life. Now I know he will manage his life and finance unlike other famous celebrities etc (I love them but they don’t know how to manage their easy-earned money). I think Adam will be great.

    Out of all the interesting things he said, how wierd that you call this “article” whatever it is “Adam Lambert wants financial security” – it would be pretty damn strange if he didn’t, wouldn’t it? Are you trying to imply something? The poor guy can’t open his mouth any more without somebody trying to make him look dishonest, or greedy, or too gay, or not gay enough – I’m sure People won’t headline their article this way – they have class.

    whatever he creates and is happy with i will buy. and buy, and buy. i like that i can trade with him: his music and talent for my money. in my estimation this is a wonderful trade. he gets to do what he loves to do,(and he does it extremly well),i get to get extreme pleasure watching him and hearing him do it. win/win situation.

    I love Adam. He has struggled for so many years, even needing help from his parents to help him pay the rent. He deserves all the monetary gain from his hard work and talent. I can’t wait to buy his new CD from RCA.

    Adam is the most exciting performer to hop on a stage in years! I hate the title to this article. Sounds like the writer doesn’t like this particular artist. In this ecomony, who doesn’t want a paycheck of any amount. This artist has struggled for years to get his voice heard and he deserves all the support from fans. I am not buying the demos from HiFi, but I will support the RCA release in a big way. Fans, let’s put our money where it belongs. I just wish I was able to attend the AI concert. But I did score multiple copies of the Rolling Stone cover as I feel they will be collectors items some day.

Here’s the proof that Adam Lambert DOES meet with fans before the show INSIDE (even though he needs to be protecting his voice and should not be meeting people) AND note the chipped nails which is de rigour for Adam, who peels it off himself you IDIOT. There are zillions of photos of Adam with messed up nails he even joked about it ON VIDEO and on freaking Larry King.
