Michael Jackson Had a Faint Pulse When Discovered by Doctor

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson had a faint pulse when his personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, discovered him in bed and not breathing at the singer’s rented L.A. home last Thursday, the doctor’s lawyer said Sunday.

“He just happened to find him in his bed, and he wasn’t breathing. Mr. Jackson was still warm and had a pulse,” Edward Chernoff told the AP

The doctor then immediately began administering CPR, Chernoff said. He later accompanied the singer in an ambulance to the UCLA Medical Center.

Chernoff also said Dr. Conrad never prescribed or gave Jackson the drugs Demerol or OxyContin that may have contributed to the singer’s death.

“Dr. Murray has never prescribed nor administered Demerol to Michael Jackson,” Chernoff said. “Not ever. Not that day. … Not Oxycontin (either), for that matter.”

Jackson, 50, died Thursday after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles.

Michael’s autopsy — conducted by the L.A. County Coroner — concluded that there was no trauma to the star’s body and “no indication of foul play”.

The coroner said that Michael had been taking “some prescription medications.”

The coroner said the cause of death was deferred because additional testing — including toxicology and other tests — is needed. It will take 4-6 weeks to complete.
