Michael Jackson ‘Was Hooked to an Intravenous Drip in The 90s’

Michael Jackson‘s addiction to prescription drugs goes as far back as the 90s — when he was “regularly hooked to an intravenous drip.”Michael Jackson

Jackson died Thursday (June 25) after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. An overdose of painkillers is believed to have been the cause.

The National Enquirer claims:

The singer had previously been treated for addiction to painkillers, but in 1999, sources told us exclusively that Michael was “regularly hooked to an intravenous drip.”

Sources added: “The drip was sending mind-bending doses of the prescription narcotic Demerol surging into his veins.”

Jackson told a pal, according to our exclusive report: “I’m on some medication – I need to get through the day.”

At the time, the superstar’s distraught wife Debbie Rowe told a friend, “Michael is so out of control, I’m terrified for the children.”

Since then, we’ve reported over the years that Jackson’s drug dependence continued to bizarre extremes.

In 2005, during his child molestation criminal trial, we reported, citing sources, that Michael was “shooting himself in his leg with a syringe filled with Demerol.”

We repeatedly said Jackson’s worried family attempted various interventions, but none – sadly -ever helped.

Jackson’s autopsy — conducted by the L.A. County Coroner — concluded that there was no trauma to the star’s body and “no indication of foul play”.

The coroner said that Michael had been taking “some prescription medications.”

The coroner said the cause of death was deferred because additional testing — including toxicology and other tests — is needed. It will take 4-6 weeks to complete.

A second autopsy, which was requested by Jackson’s family, is currently underway in Los Angeles.
