Pink: ‘Britney Spears Shouldn’t Mime’

PinkPop punk Pink is furious that rival Britney Spears mimes during her performances.

The Sober hitmaker is angry that Britney is lip-syncing to her hits on her Circus tour and has called on her to sing up for her fans.

“For me, personally, if I go to a live show I want to see someone sing,” says Pink, who is currently on a 50-date tour of Australia. “I don’t want to see miming. Live shows are live show. You gotta do live.

“You gotta be spontaneous. That’s why I love Bette Midler and Tina Turner — they’re funny, they talk. You have to do that.”

Pink, real name Alecia Moore, and her ex-husband Carey Hart recently visited Australia in attempt to get their romance back on track.

“It took us seven years to work it out,” the singer told Australia’s Down Under newspaper.

“We got married and I went on the road for two years. That’s about as long as we were married. It’s definitely hard.”

  1. F*ck Pink!
I’m going to see Brit for the 2nd time and I don’t care one little bit that she lipsyncs. She dances ALOT and once you’re in the same room with Britney, you won’t care if she sings live or not. It’s all about having fun! I’m just happy to be so close to her :)

  2. F*CK Britney! P!nk can swing down from the ceiling upside down & still sing. Don’t make excuses for Britany’s fake wannabe like P!nk “circus” tour. Shame on you, ddb ain’t with that shit. I like LIVE music…

  5. Oh puhleezz Showbiz Spy, why dont you check your facts. In THAT interview, Pink first said “There is room for everyone” But that her personal preference would be hearing someone sing LIVE. She was hardly “ANGRY” or “FURIOUS” etc. Why are newspapers and gossip blogs trying so hard to make Pink look like the “ANGRY GIRL” ALLL the FUCKIN TIME. SHe is hardly that. This comments are taken from a radio interview in Australia and she was laughing and joking …she was hardly ANGRY….Jeez.

  6. I believe there should be a ban on the “ANGRY” and “FURIOUS” comment on a PINK post because that is all the media has been trying to feed us. The angry Pink, the Furious Pink, the Crazy Pink. What about the time when she cried because her dog died. What about the time when she donated $250,000 of her own money to help fire victims in Victoria. Why dont you talk about her visits to Children hospitals where she stayed hours after the newshounds and paparazzis left, to talk to the sick kids. WHY WHY WHY WHY do I have to hear about Pink being angry and furious from the Media all the damn time when from what I have seen of her interviews and concerts and random clips she is always sweet and polite and has such a nice nature.

  7. To all the idiots that posted above me, get a fucken life you retards. You have your opinion , Pink has her opinion.
Why should she be ashamed to voice her preference for LIVE vocals in a LIVE performance??. Its every music fan preference to hear a LIVE voice rather than recorded when they are seeing someone LIVE. Its just the obsessive fans who would watch a mimed performance without any complaints and would probably commit suicide too when their star dies. That is scary.

  8. What a rediculous story. Britney fans know that she lyp syncs most of her songs, but we dont care. Im going to see Britney in November and I dont care if she is lyp sycning, because in all the other aspects, she performs her ass off! Britney is an ENTERTAINER, not a singer. Maybe when Pink reaches the success that Britney has, then she can comment on the matter. And anyway when its quoted in the above article on what she said about how artists should sing live, she doesn’t even quote Britney?

  10. @Samuel….Britney is only More successful in the U.S than Pink. P!nk has more success in the UK, Ireland, The whole German speaking world of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the rest of Europe except Spain or Italy. P!nk also is 50 times more successful in Australia than Britney.
She doesnt even quote Britney’s name because she NEVER FUCKIN NAMED BRITNEY in the interview. BRITNEY”S NAME WASNT EVEN BOUGHT UP. The interviewer just asked her about what she thinks about people who lip sync…in general. Come on, P!nk is currently on a record breaking 3 month tour of Australia which will gross $70 million. Why should she care about what Britney does?.

  11. This is just another example of a Newspaper or blog’s attempt at sensationalism . First, no one mentioned Britney during that interview, which was done in Australia- the place where P!nk’s last 2 albums have gone DIAMOND (10X platinum). No one cares about Britney there. It was just a question in general to Pink about people who lipsync.

Second, Pink oughta sue all this gossip rags for misrepresentation of facts because all too often, even when she never mentioned anyone’s name, they put that label on her. Anyone who has seen her and been around her knows that she is probably the most cheerful and funny person in the world. lol. She is not hateful and nor is she angry all the time.

  12. personally i dont like performers who lip sync..yes you go to a concert to be entertained and see a good show but in my opinion a big part of that is hearing someone sing live otherwise you may aswell buy the dvd and watch it at home..i think pink is absolutely fabulous and when i saw her in concert a month ago i had THE best night and she put on an awesome show which included live singing..in my opinion if a performer expects fans to buy tickets and travell who knows how far to see their favourite bands and acts live they should have the decency to sing their songs live…
