Michael Jackson’s ex-wife is to fight for custody of the two children born during her marriage to the tragic King of Pop.
Debbie Rowe wed Jackson in 1996 (he was a patient in the dermatologist’s office, where she worked as a nurse). They divorced in 1999, but during their custody fight, she agreed to give up her parental rights, insisting Jackson was a good father.
According to NBC 4, Rowe said during a 90-minute phone conversation, “I want my children.”
Rowe says she will seek a restraining order to keep Michael’s father, Joe Jackson, away from Prince, 12 and Paris, 11.
Rowe also says she’ll submit to a DNA test to prove she’s the biological mother.
Jackson, 50, died Thursday (June 25) after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles.
Rowe was recently said to be “distraught” at Jacko’s death.
“Debbie Rowe is so distraught and devastated over Michael’s death that she cannot even get out of bed,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “[She] has no comment about Michael’s death or custody of the children.”
