Johnny Depp is renowned for playing madcap and quirky movie roles — but he doesn’t see anything weird about his various weirdo characters.
The actor has played Edward Scissor Hands, Willy Wonka and plays the Mad Hatter in upcoming movie Alice in Wonderland.
But the Pirates of The Caribbean star doesn’t feel there is anything out of the ordinary about any of them.
“I think they’re all normal,” he says. “At least to me, they’re all normal. I think that most people are the same. We’re all a bit weird when you get down to it. It’s brilliant.”
Depp, 46, recently revealed that Lily-Rose, 10, and seven-year-old Jack — his kids with partner Vanessa Paradis — keep him grounded.
“There’s actually probably a group of people that keep me balanced,” he said. “Certainly family, my family are a great support to me and then above and beyond certainly my kiddies y’know? Vanessa and the kiddies keep me grounded.
“But kiddies will keep you grounded no matter what.”
