Christina Aguilera and Lindsay Lohan are set to make cameo appearances in the new series of US TV show Project Runway, it has been announced.
The Genie in a Bottle hitmaker and the Mean Girls actress will appear during challenges set for the 16 new contestants in Los Angeles.
Runway host Heidi Klum said of the new batch of aspiring fashion designers, “The girls are very strong on season six. There’s a lot of crying, there’s fighting going on, there’s a lot of drama going on – but especially with the girls.”
Heidi will again be on the judging panel, flanked by mentor Tim Gunn and judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors.
Three of the 16 contestants — Nicolas Putvinksi, Gordana Gehlhausen and Irina Shabeyeva — hail originally from Russia, Bosnia and Georgia, respectively.
Another contestant, Malvin Vien, lists his favorite designer as “himself” and inspiration as “the farmers of rural China.” Another, Louise Black, claims the first garment she ever sewed was her very own wedding dress.

Heidi said of the new series, which finished filming in February but won’t air until August, “We all had a lot of fun. We laughed a lot and we saw some great fashion.”
