Michael Jackson‘s grief-stricken older sister La Toya says the tragic superstar wanted to give up music and embark on a career in Hollywood.

The music legend passed away June 25 after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. It is widely believed that an overdose of painkillers caused Jacko’s untimely demise.

But before his death, the King of Pop was apparently planning to make films.

“He really wanted to be a movie director,” La Toya said. “He was doing everything to make that happen. He had an idea do a horror film called Thriller. He designed the poster for it already.”

Referring to Michael’s London comeback gigs, La Toya added, “He didn’t want to do 50 shows, he only wanted to do 10. But he was pushed. And Michael being Michael didn’t want to let down his fans.

“But even his daughter Paris said, ‘They worked Daddy too hard.’ Somebody that fragile can’t keep going on like that.”

La Toya also revealed how the King of Pop’s death had drawn the Jacksons closer together.

“This has united the family,” she said. “We’re all in pain and suffering the loss of Michael. . . but we’re also determined to get to the bottom of what happened to him.

“He was taken from us too soon. Michael didn’t have to die.”

La Toya also described how her younger brother’s house was strewn with oxygen flasks and empty pill bottles on the day he died.

“The police had already taken an oxygen tank which was beside the bed. On top of the sheets there was still an oxygen mask,” La Toya told a British newspaper. “Standing beside the bed was a stand for an intravenous drip. I was told the cops had taken the bag of liquid from it.

“Behind I saw three oxygen tanks in the corner of the room.

“There was an empty pill box on a cabinet. We also found loads of empty oxygen tanks in the garage of the house.”

Jackson was found to be on a potentially lethal cocktail of drugs when he died, with twice-a-day injections of morphine-related painkiller Demerol and doses of powerful narcotic Dilaudid.

He was also taking twice-daily jabs of painkiller Vistaril, anxiety drug Xanax, anti-depressants Prozac and Zoloft, plus anti-indigestion drug Prilosec.

Detectives are waiting for toxicology tests and have revealed they seized a number of items from the star’s home at the time of his death.

They have also subpoenaed all Jacko’s medical records.

Officers say that because the star died after allegedly taking a cocktail of drugs somebody must face trial over his death.

If it was ruled that the 50-year-old was murdered, anyone found guilty would face the death sentence, possibly by lethal injection.

Los Angeles police chief William Bratton described his force’s investigation as “comprehensive and far-reaching”.

Bratton insisted his detectives would wait for the coroner’s report on what caused Jacko’s death before ruling out any possibilities.

He said the report depended on the results of time-consuming toxicology tests.

“Based on those we’ll have an idea of what we’re dealing with,” Bratton said.

“Are we dealing with homicide? Are we dealing with an accidental overdose? What are we dealing with?

“At the time of the death with search warrants, we were able to seize a number of items from the residence where the death had occurred and those will assist in the investigation.

“The next move really is his. We’re not marking time waiting for his report.”

La Toya is adamant Michael was murdered.
