Robert Redford Marries Girlfriend

Robert RedfordRobert Redford is a married man — the actor wed girlfriend Sibylle Szaggars in Hamburg, Germany, on Saturday, July 11.

Pastor Frank Engelbrecht of Hamburg’s St. Catherine Church, said the couple “wanted a very intimate ceremony.”

Robert donned a dark suit for the occasion, while German artist Sibylle chose a champagne-colored gown.

The couple — who began dating in 1996 — are set to hold a second ceremony in Mexico this September.

Robert — who was previously married to Lola Redford, with whom he had four children — announced he was engaged to Sibyelle last year, saying, “We are engaged and very happy with that. She is my fiancee and that says everything, doesn’t it?”

Throughout these now 35 years I have followed his life and maintain my silence. Have even written a story into a play just for Mr. Redfor. My silence that one day our paths would cross.
