Cameron Diaz Credits Her Parents’ Marriage for Her Success

Cameron DiazCameron Diaz believes that the long-lasting love her parents shared has been the key to her successful career.

“It’s a bond that is so true, so pure, and so powerful, it is the most beautiful and inspiring thing that I have ever witnessed — the eternal love that my mom and dad shared,” the actress told Fox News. “It was what has given me the strength and courage to live this extraordinary life and it is what powers the light that burns inside of me.”

Diaz’s parents tied the knot in 1969. Her father passed away suddenly from pneumonia in April last year while the star was filming her soon-to-be-released drama My Sister’s Keeper.

“I was very fortunate to have a very wonderful, supportive family who instilled a great work ethic in me and to treat other people the way you want to be treated and it sticks with you,” the actress explained. “Teach your kids well.”

“I was fortunate to meet a man named Jeff Dunes, who when I met when at a Hollywood party at the tender age of 16, who offered to speak to my parents about me modeling instead of all the other possible things a man in his position might offer a girl in mine,” Diaz added. “I was also fortune to be represented by the Elite Model Agency, an agency that actually had integrity.”
