It was the same for Transformers even though the relationship between Shia and Megan's characters wasn't as big a part of the movie, the producers still wanted to promote that angle. So Megan/Shia pretended to be dating but as soon as the promotional tour was over she's constantly sighted with her real love Brian and never with Shia. Likewise with Rob and Kristen, there is no relationship, they just want to get people talking and promote the movie. Stop falling for these obvious publicity stunts!
