Nicole Richie is planning to name her unborn baby after her godfather, the late Michael Jackson, according to reports.

The socialite — who’s expecting her second child with fiance Joel Madden — will apparently name her baby Michael if it’s a boy, and Michelle if it’s a girl.

“Nicole is devastated by Michael’s death,” a source said. “She loved him and it happened so suddenly.

“She wasn’t planning on naming the baby after him but she thinks it’s fitting now that he’s gone.”

Nicole and Joel are already parents to one-year-old daughter Harlow.

It was recently reported that the couple were planning to get married before the birth of their second child.

“Nicole wants to take Joel’s last name,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer. “When she marries Joel, she’s going to become Nicole Madden.

“She doesn’t want any confusion with her kids, either. They’re all going to be Maddens.”
