John Travolta to Quit Scientology?
John Travolta is threatening to quit the Church of Scientology, it has been claimed.
The Hollywood legend is apparently keen to distance himself from the controversial religion, of which he has been a prominent and generous benefactor, following the death of his 16-year-old son Jett.
Jett died on January 2, 2009 after suffering a seizure at the Travolta family holiday home in the Bahamas.
Travolta is said to be angry that Scientology was unable to help Jett, who was widely reported to have suffered from autism.
However, if he leaves the church, the organization will go public with embarrassing details of his private life, including, it is claimed, allegations of past homosexual relationships, according to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper.
“There have been strong rumours coming out of Scientology that John Travolta is disappointed that the religion was not able to help his son more,’ Rick Ross, an American author and lecturer on Scientology, told the paper. “It’s led him to question his faith.
“I think it would be very difficult for John Travolta at this stage, given his history with the religion, to extricate himself from the Church of Scientology.
“It would be a huge move on his part because Scientology keeps files on its celebrity members containing embarrassing personal information about them.
“And Scientology has proven in the past that it has a penchant for releasing that information to embarrass people who have left and who have said things it doesn’t like.
“If celebrities leave, they tend to do it quietly and keep their mouths shut, because if they do speak out, they are opening themselves up to attack from Scientology.
“That’s why I think Travolta will want to keep his problems with the Church private.”
Travolta’s pals are said to be worried about the Grease star’s mental health due to his bizarre nocturnal ritual on the private runway that services his Jumbolair estate.
“We often see John driving himself around at night,” one of Travolta’s neighbors said.
“It’s sad to see. You rarely catch sight of him during the day. We used to see him driving around on a buggy with his son. Now it’s just John by himself. He’s always been a night owl, but now even more so.’

Jett’s death was not the fault of Scientology. It was John Travolta’s fault for believing their nonsense and not getting Jett the help he needed. John Travolta is a grown man and should have known better! Shame on him.

I have heard from another patient of the same pediatrician, that Jett was taken off of all of his seizure meds due to pressure from scientology. seizures are one of the most treatable issues, and the child did not have to die. This is probably why John T. is so disraught. He let the cult lead him to make a decision tha killed his precious son. I would be devastated. Only a loving God, and Jesus, our true saviour can help us.. He is a good man and I pray that his family is blessed in the years to come. I will start praying now that the very evil strongholds of that false religion will be destroyed. It is harming many and operates at a very high level of evil. It really doesn’t matter to anyone about John’s past.
He has to do what is right for him and that looks like getting out of the church is a good thing.
If a church is reacting like this to someone who is in need, it couldn’t be good and what he need now.
He should be rid of it and be free to grieve in his own way…with no help from the church.

If the story is true that Scientology will tell what they know about John I would call blackmail. Scientology is so hateful, I wouldn’t call it a religion. People are more forgiving than that hateful religion and anything they have to say would not make a difference because John is well liked.

I don’t know if you will ever get a chance to read this cause I know most of these celebrity Blogs don’t really amount to much. But just in case. Your son is in the arms of a loving God now.He can care for him much better that you can here. He no longer is autistic but made whole. God is also proud of how you have raised and taken care of your son. Although you have been led to believe the lie of Scientology, you actually have demonstrated the love of Jesus Christ in the love and care you gave your son. He wants you to know now that he will take that kind of care of you if you allow him to. I believe your heart has always been right for your son, with a love like God’s for us, unconditional and true. Scientology is nothing more than a cult, and it’s number one cause is GREED. Shame on them for misguiding it’s members and having them believe such ridiculous things. This so called faith is based on a man who was nothing but a Science Fiction buff. John is probably now feeling such regret over the loss of his beloved son because he made a poor choice in faith and went along with the teachings of a cult. John I hope you and your family will find the courage and strength to return to your belief in GOD and his ways, he will never fail you. I apologize to anyone I offended on this blog, I can see how my comment might be interpreted in a negative and egotistical way, but honestly I am and have been moved by Kelly’s attempts to ban chemicals and take on giants of the cleaning industry with claims linking Jett’s Kawasaki syndrome to Carpet Cleaning.
I have heard some backlash from a reader and realize, I probably should have kept my companies name out of it, but I was hoping that John might read it and be relieved in some way to know that his son’s illness and death was inspiring others to make a difference. I really don’t profit from anyone knowing about my company unless they are living within 25 miles of our home base, because it is a service, we dont really sell anything other than are service. We do have some cleaners available but because of our home made labels and limited storage space, we are not manufacturing it in large quantities.
In regards to Scientology, I really meant that they should have done more, I dont have special cleanses, but with the humble knowledge I do have, I know that there are many resources out there to combat these illnesses and not to ever ever give up!

Precious John and Family, I know the pain of losing a child, my son, was almost 18 yrs. old. This happened on Jan.18,1990. I could not believe it was happening. At night I slept in a fetal position for one month, in a walk in closet, on the floor. The pain was too great, and I wanted to literally die. The only comfort I could get was from the Bible. I’m not writing about a religion, it is a personal relationship with our Savior, Jesus. I can only share what I went through. I went through all the stages of grieving, we’ll never get over it, we will always miss them. Eventhough I have 5 other Sons’ my James was unique and so special like they all are. Dear Mr Travolta. I am so sorry for your loss. I was heart sick when I heard the tragic news. But I have seen first hand what Scientology is. Back in the early 70s my sister in law at a young age got involved with this “CULT” along with her boyfriend. Her family found out and wanted to get them out as soon as they started telling us things about this so called religion. And we saw such a terrible drastic change with these 2 young people. We went to a meeting shortly after she joined this so called church to get her out and we were THREATENED. A man actuallty told me that I would not leave alive if we tried to get her, This is not a joke. After many weeks we finally got them away, but the family was afraid for their safety for a long time. This cult should of been shut down years ago. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE – THIS IS NOT GOD’S WAY. I have been a fan of yours since Welcome Back Kotter – No one will care about what ever this cult has to say. You have always been well respected and such a wonderful person and I know this because I know one of your body guards that you have employed when you are in LA. His first name is Frank and he use to be a cop with LAPD. He always spoke very highly of you and your family when he worked for you. I also have a autistic 18 yr old in my family. He just graduated with fantastic grades and is attending college this fall. It is so sad that Jett could not have had the same opportunities. Please leave this cult before it destroys you!!! Like most of America, I was very sad for your loss. I’ve always loved and respected your film work and have been impressed with your family and your commitment to flying. My all time favorite movie is one of the lesser productions, but a fabulous movie with a great cast, and that was Phenomenon. After that, in a similar fashion, Michael was terrific too. The only thing i do know is that Gid really loves you and he loves you so much he sent his only son to die for you and your son jett and God is always waiting for you to ceom to him not matter what you have done, all you have to do is ask him and he will come to you and carry you through your pain and wont ever leave you again. John has got to understand, there is nothing they can do at this point to damage his career. No one cares about celebrities experimenting in homosexuality or drugs or religion. Any negative information released will be viewed as tainted and intentional to harm a man that is loved by millions.
If John was to leave now, Jett's death would squarely be placed on the tennents of Scientology, and that would begin the collapse of the Scientology Cult.
