Katie Holmes Escapes Injury in Car Fire

Katie Holmes can thank her lucky stars after narrowly escaping injury on the set of her upcoming movie, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, in Victoria, Australia over the weekend.
The actress — who is married to Tom Cruise — was shooting a scene inside a car when the car’s battery exploded, ultimately setting the car on fire, RadarOnline reports.
The exploding battery was not a part of the film, which sees the Holmes play a woman stalked by evil gnomes.
Holmes’ rep is yet to comment.
Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark – which also stars Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison — is expected to hit theaters in 2011.
Katie, 30, recently appeared on So You Think You Can Dance. She performed a special tribute to Judy Garland for the 100th episode of the smash hit show.
