Simon Cowell is so desperate for the next season of his UK TV talent series The X Factor to be a roaring success — and beat rival Strictly Come Dancing — he’s planning to get Madonna to appear on the show.

Cowell is hoping the Queen of Pop will join the likes of Beyoncé, Westlife, Take That and Britney Spears by becoming a guest mentor who guides contestants appearing on the show.

Cowell is said to have asked network bosses to find the cash in their budget to fund a one-off deal with the Holiday singer.

“Simon is the most powerful man in TV these days and he’s in a position to call the shots. ITV are happy to back him — and he’s determined to repay their faith by getting the biggest names in the world, including Madonna,” a source said.

Madonna, 50, is currently in the middle of her Sticky&Sweet tour in Europe.
