Jessica Simpson believes every woman can be judged by the type of underwear she wears.

The singer/actress says she has put her theory — that lingerie is a reflection of the person wearing them — to good use in her own line of sexy undies.

“I think lingerie is a reflection of the person wearing them,” says Jess, who has just launched her signature collection of smalls. “Mine are very much feminine, sweet with a hint of fun and I think that’s just the way I am as a person.”

In a new interview with Glamour magazine, Simpson, 29, revealed how she’s plagued by insecurity.

“When I was young, I would look at magazines and feel a lot of pressure,” she said. “As a child of 12, I would write things in my journal like, ‘I’m lying here and all I can think about is that my stomach is hanging over my underwear.’ That disturbs me even today!

“I was always disconnected from myself; there was this idea of perfection I couldn’t ever get to. But all women struggle with insecurity, and we all have something we don’t like about ourselves.”
