Anna Friel Refuses to Read About Herself

The British actress refuses to pay attention to things that are written about her in the media in case she stumbles across any negative articles.
Friel — who recently returned to the UK to prepare for her stage role as Holly Golightly in Breakfast At Tiffany’s on London’s West End — says she has asked her longtime partner David Thewlis to remove Google Alerts from her computer.
“David put a Google alert on my computer — which emails you when there’s news or a story about you on Google — and I completely forgot about it until these emails started popping up,” she said.
“There can be all these great comments, but read just one negative thing and that’s all you can think about.
“So I had to be strict with myself and say: ‘Get this thing off!’ I’m going to try not to read my reviews [for Breakfast At Tiffany's]. I only need to know if they’re good or bad, do I need to work harder?
“It’s difficult putting yourself out there.”
