Ryan SeacrestPaula Abdul is leaving American Idol – and host Ryan Seacrest is devastated!

“About to go to sleep when I started seeing my blackberry blow up,” Seacrest wrote on his Twitter Tuesday. “I have read what u have read and I am shocked and saddened about Paula.”

Abdul confirmed Tuesday that she won’t be returning to the hit FOX TV talent show.

“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to Idol,” the 47-year-old wrote on her Twitter page. “I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day one become an international phenomenon.

“What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. I do, without any doubt, have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all.”

No reason was given for her departure just two days before she was to return to work. Abdul’s rep declined to comment except to confirm she was leaving.

“Paula Abdul has been an important part of the American Idol family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show,” Fox television said in a statement. “While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.”

Yeah, lets pay the men a disgusting amount of money ,then hear them whine about how sad they are about her leaving! I thought there were laws about equal pay for men and women? I know , why don’t all of them at AI, who are making more than a million a year give some of that money to the crew members. You know the people who actually break a sweat while their working . I bet most of them are making just above minimum wage. I know, lets give Seacrest more money for pushing contestants just for higher ratings. Apparently the more ruthless one is the higher the raise.
