Katherine Heigl insists she’ll never tread the boards on Broadway — because she’s “really afraid” of live audiences.

The actress — who stars opposite Gerard Butler in new movie The Ugly Truth — says she isn’t planning a move on to the stage.

“I’m a big coward and I’m really afraid of live audiences,” she said. “I used to really want to go on the stage and then the last couple of years I’ve done some presenting at some award shows.

“I was so nervous I thought I was going to be sick, so I don’t think me on stage for any length of time would work too well.”

Heigl, 30, recently revealed that she likes her men to play it cool.

“If you have a guy who is relentless and obviously so into it, and a puppy dog at your feet, then it’s not as sexy and interesting as the guy who plays it a little cool,” she said “I talk to my husband Josh about this all the time.

“The next day after our first date I waited until three o’clock, but I didn’t wait for him to call me. I waited until three and I went, ‘Sc**w it, I’m going to call him.’

“I called and invited him out to a friend’s barbecue. He showed up and we had a great time, and it was on from there.”
