Robert Downey Jr: ‘Iron Man Suit is Torture’
Robert Downey Jr. only had one reservation about reprising his role as Tony Stark in new movie Iron Man 2 — his iron suit.
Robert was grateful to costume designers on the Marvel sequel after they made the metal suit easier to move in and better to wear than the first one, but it was still torture.
“The suit was a little easier this time,” he says. “But still not enough for my taste.”
Despite the suit being uncomfortable, Robert was keen to take it home after filming.
“They keep telling me that they’re going to give me [a suit with] all the bells and whistles but I still don’t have it,” said two-time Academy Award-nominated star. “I don’t know, maybe I make it contractual. It would be great to have one at home — a talking point.”
Iron Man 2 — which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johansson — hits movie theaters May 2010.
