Katy Perry to Guest on Idol

Victoria Beckham isn’t the only person set to guest on American Idol — Katy Perry has been lined up, too!
The I Kissed a Girl hitmaker and the former Spice Girl will be guest judges on the smash hit TV talent show, Fox entertainment chairman Peter Rice told reporters at an press conference in L.A. Thursday.
“Our intention is to have guest judges during the auditions, female pop stars,” Rice said, with Victoria and Katy being the first two to confirm.
“There’s no thought right now that any of these judges will be long term. It’s not our expectation or plan,” Rice explained, adding they have from now until January to find a replacement for Paula Abdul.
“We’re not talking to Katy Perry about being a full time judge on Idol,”Rice reiterated.
Abdul confirmed Tuesday that she won’t be returning to the hit FOX TV talent show.
“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to Idol,” the 47-year-old wrote on her Twitter page. “I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day one become an international phenomenon.
“What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. I do, without any doubt, have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all.”
