Victoria Beckham’s Idol Debut ‘Icy & Wooden’

Victoria BeckhamVictoria Beckham recorded her first appearance as a guest judge on American Idol Friday — but she failed to impress.

The former Spice Girl was a huge let down in front of the camera, according Radar Online.

“It didn’t go too well,” said a source close to the production. “She tried to hard to be ‘nice,’ but came off as icy and wooden.

“The contestants who auditioned were deeply disappointed by Paula Abdul‘s absence.”

One person connected to show also was overheard saying two British judges were too much.

Beckham recently said she was “beyond excited” about her new gig.

“I am beyond excited. When I got the phone call, I just couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I feel like I’ve got the best job that there is. I’m going to try hard to pout and not shatter that illusion that I’m a moody cow but I don’t know if I can. [Laughs] I’m just so happy.

“I want to be nice to people.

“I know how it feels to be stood there and to be judged and how it can feel when nerves really get the better of you. And I don’t want to shatter anybody’s dream but at the same time there’s nothing wrong with a bit of constructive criticism.”

I loved Victoria on IDOL! I thought she had a nice way of telling people they were not talented enough, or paid them a compliment on someone else. She did not laugh at people and hurt their feelings like Randy and Mary J. Blige — that is so rude and junior high behavior and not at all professional. I like Victoria; while she may not be laughing a lot, I think she is a little shy, reserved but she looks and acts classy.
