Gerard Butler Wants a Wife & Kids

Gerard ButlerGerard Butler would “love” to get married and have kids — but is worried it might not happen.

The actor — who was recently forced to deny tabloid rumors romantically linking him to his The Bounty costar Jennifer Aniston — says he is desperate to settle down, be fears he has left it too late.

“I would love to have a wife and kids, but you can’t magic them out of thin air,” Butler, 39, told Britain’s Red magazine. “I’ve never been that ‘seven-year relationship’ kind of guy. [But I'm ready] for the big relationship.

“I guess I’ve got to settle down soon, but I’m nervous to say it out loud because it might not happen.”

    You might say you are worried it might not happen (marriage/kids) but what is the rush?

    Yes you think your at an age where it’s expected of you to be married with 2.5 children or you might think have missed the boat but I beg to differ. Look at all the failed marriages there are out their in the world wouldn’t you prefer to be sure and really get to know the lass rather than hook up with someone you will end up wanting to divorce in a years time. If you should divorce and have kids that’s when you will know what real pain is let alone a full scale war if the divorce is messy.

    So just take your time, try to link up with a women who your mother would also love and make sure she has class and standards not just silicone and puffer lips like so many actresses in Hollywood.

      Wow, Nice comment! I think it’s half right. I often annoyed how people in my surrounding ask me about boyfriend or marriage. Oh please, I know that I’m 27 years old already. But, I don’t want to get married because of THAT reason, too dangerous and fragile reasons. I’m also a Catholic who believes one marriage in one lifetime (except separate by death). Hope Mr. Butler can find his dream woman.

      It is true that when you find the right person for you, your soul will know it. Somebody who will be a good partner for life, a good parent to your kids, etc. and so on. I guess Gerard didn’t feel this when he met Jennifer Aniston. I’m also a Catholic, but I believe one should not suffer for life just because he/she entered a wrong marriage.

    My mom knows the feeling of being afraid of being alone. She’s only 35 and still not have been married. Been engaged many of times but never fall through. She still waiting for the man of her dreams. I’m only 14 years and may not know what love is about, but I wish know soon. I’ve never had a father at all, had one, but he never did anything or try to know me. I know sooner or later I’ll have a step-father. Mom can’t have any more kids but it’s for a good reason though.

    Sure he does this is just another publicity stunt. He is 39 if he wanted to get married he would of. Why now its not like his biological clock is ticking. Why buy the cow when the milk is free. He is handsome and he knows it thats why i dont beleive his claim on wanting to get married.

    He(Gerard) said he is not a seven year relationship type of guy which means even if he wanted to settle down and have kids he is afraid to be tied in marriage. if he really wanted it then he should have married long ago. well, i understand settling down is not an easy decision to make especially when you haven’t found the person you really wanted to commit for life, which works with ordinary people but not really with famous personalities that are surrounded with everything they can have–like Gerard Butler. he can have any beautiful woman and he will not look at any ordinary girl like us..

    And Gerard is not really my type even if he is gorgeous, famous and every girl dreams for him.i still prefer ordinary men who can really make me feel his princess even without fame and money.
