Heigl, Miller & Alba ‘Eye Barbarella Role’

Katherine HeiglKatherine Heigl, Sienna Miller and Jessica Alba are all reportedly vying for a role as the new Barbarella.

Casting for the remake of the 1968 sci-fi classic starring Jane Fonda as a scantily-clad intergalactic world saver is soon to get underway with a bevy of beauties already on the hot list to follow in Fonda’s footsteps.

“The script is underway and John Carpenter is set to direct so it’s all about finding the new Barbarella,” reports a movie insider. “This will be a huge movie and with Barbarella such a strong female character, half the leading ladies in Hollywood will want this role.

“Sienna, Jessica and Katherine are probably top of the list but others have not been ruled out. Whoever gets it is going to have to look super-hot in not very much clothing!”

However, Factory Girl star Miller likely won’t get the role — she doesn’t consider herself particularly credible when it comes to success at the box office.

“I was having to pay people to see my movies!… certain really great directors have wanted to do films with me, but unless you’ve had a film that’s opened with a certain amount of money, you’re not bankable to studios… if you want to make amazing, artistic films, you’ve got to have some sort of box office credibility, which I don’t have,” Sienna recently told Nylon magazine.

    Oh please! If Sienna doesn’t get the role it will probably be because they have found someone better! Besides, isn’t she busy being typecast as the Baroness in GI Joe? How much tight fitting black leather can one woman get away with before an enterprise becomes truly ridiculous and tarred by association?

    KH/JA vs Sienna “woe is me, I didn’t know any better because I was naive and in love, people are always picking on me for no apparant reason, there is no sisterhood, I had a semi-breakdown and was fearful to leave my house” miller? Well, with JA and KH the producers/directors won’t have to shell out money to whitewash their image. The only thing that stood out about SM during the promotion of GI Joe is how much money it takes to make someone like SM “likable”.

    The major distinction between KH/JA is that they are not having very public affairs with married men and taunting/spreading lies about the married man’s wife just because she won’t bend over backwards for her while she prances around LA, Italy, London, NY, Mexico, and Prague with her husband.

    Why would anyone take SM seriously when she is always telling lies and whining about everything that happens to her is someone else’s fault? In the GQ interview she states that she was single for a year? If that was so, then why are there tons of photos of her publicly engaging in pda/sexual acts with the married man all of 2008 and most of 2009? If she is declaring that she has been single for a year, then that must mean she lied in the Vogue interiew when she said that she doesn’t have ONS or loved every man that she has been with. SM isn’t going to get any box office credibility because of the manner in which she lives her life, which she makes so public. She only whines about not having privacy when she doesn’t come out smelling like roses.
