Renee Zellweger has revealed how she put her career on hold for the summer — because she was determined to get her personal life in order.

The Bridget Jones’s Diary star — who has been linked to The Hangover actor Bradley Cooper — says she often feels she is not living her life for herself.

“This summer, yes, absolutely, I kind of stopped for a minute and started to just take a look around at my personal life and fill it up a little bit, with things that didn’t have anything to do with being an actor, or having a public persona,” she said.

“I just kind of went out to play.”

The actress also confirmed that she had become an investor in a restaurant in the Hamptons, in New York.

“I opened a restaurant, that was fun, in East Hampton,” she said. “The Blue Parrot, a little taco joint with some really good margaritas — too good.

“[And] I’ve been traveling a lot, spending a lot of time with my family.

“It’s fuel, the things you need, if you’re going to do this job well.”
