Celine Dion‘s representative has confirmed earlier reports the singer, 41, is pregnant with her second child.

“We can confirm she is pregnant,” her rep said in a statement. “Celine and [husband] Rene [Angelil] are very happy.”

Dion — who after undergoing fertility treatments gave birth to a son, René-Charles Dion Angélil, on January 25, 2001 in Florida — and Angelil, 67, conceived with the help of a team of fertility doctors in New York.

She is due to give birth next May.

Angélil — whose battle with cancer had raised doubts that the couple could conceive again — has three other children from two previous marriages.

“You know, I’m not really a singer,” Dion told People magazine in 2007. “My life is to be a mom. It is what I enjoy the most. I will take a chance with my music. I don’t take risks with my family.”
