Sienna Miller: ‘Suing The Paparazzi Changed my Life’

Sienna MillerSienna Miller is glad she took legal action against the paparazzi — because it has “absolutely changed” her life.

The British actress sued a photo agency in 2008 after they breached privacy rules by snapping her topless on a secluded beach with her married former beau Balthazar Getty.

“I’m the first person to sue and win against the paparazzi on harassment charges,” Miller said. “It’s absolutely changed my life. I didn’t want to shut down and hide myself away.

“I didn’t want security, I didn’t want a driver, I just wanted a normal life, but I felt myself being pushed to a place where I felt afraid. Constantly.”

Miller — who became a tabloid favourite when her relationship with actor Jude Law went public in 2004 — admits she found attention from the paparazzi “really exciting” when she first shot to fame.

“It was literally one day to the next. One day I was anonymous, the next day people were outside my flat,” she told GQ magazine.

“One day I was anonymous, the next day people were outside my flat. It was quite intense but initially it didn’t feel aggressive or scary. And I was so in love.

“It was the first time I’d been crazy in love like that, just intoxicated by it, so really every experience I was having at that time was wonderful. It was a complete whirlwind, the most exciting time of my life.

“When you’re going to your first premiere and there are photographers and a red carpet and your mum’s there, it’s really exciting. Anyone who says it isn’t is lying. But then it all changed.”

    If suing the paps changed her life, then why is she still courting attention and showed up with the married man in Italy for a THIRD time? She really needs to learn to shut up because everytime she opens her mouth, she digs herself deeper and deeper.

    1) Notice that she didn’t have a problem with the paps when she was giving them a public show-n-tell of her affair with the married man. It’s only when she realized that they weren’t going to spin the affair in her favor that she started with this “invasion of privacy thing”. The paps did their job, they showed up when she called them. She can’t get mad because she can’t control the public’s response to these pr stunts.

    2) By SM own admission, she was single last year so BG isn’t her beau even though she was spotted engaging in pda/sexual acts with him. This is one instance when she needs to think before she speaks.

    3) Once again why is she even talking about JL? Wasn’t she just whining about people being morally superior and here she is bringing up JL to remind people of the time when she was the “victim”.

    4) Everything changed because she let her personal life/her “relationship” with the man she is currently sleeping overshadow her career. There are tons of actors/actresses who are more famous/talented than SM who have managed to keep their personal life private, so evading the paps is not completely impossible. Maybe for her it is, if she didn’t tip off the paps so that capture her for the umpteenth time kissing all over a man on boat where would she be? Unforunately, the type of attention she attracts isn’t what producers/directors want. Notice that now the producers/directors of GI Joe have been put in a position where they have to “defend” SM. If the producers/directors feep obligated to speak on behalf of SM, then you know that it is because they are losing money and have noticed that their audience doesn’t support their “star”. If she was a great actress, then her talent would speak for itself and directors/producers wouldn’t have to convince the public that she is a “good person”.
