Breaking Dawn Given Green Light?

Posted by Richard Head

Robert Pattinson and Kristen StewartBreaking Dawn — the fourth film in the hugely-popular Twilight movie franchise — has been given the green light, according to reports.

Breaking Dawn
is the fourth and final novel in the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.

“The fans should rest assured that we’re working with Stephenie Meyer to bring Breaking Dawn to the big screen,” said a rep for Summit Entertainment. “As in all creative processes, things take time. We want to make sure we get it right.”

It is also claimed that the movie will be a softened-down version of the novel as its fans are a younger generation.

The films’ screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg said earlier this year, “Our fans are in the PG area range, and I don’t feel a big necessity to see violence and to see gore.”

Meyer recently stated that if a Breaking Dawn film were to be created, she thought it would have to be made into two movies because “it’s hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes. The book is just so long! I can’t imagine how to distill it—if I could, the book would be shorter.”

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will reprise their respective roles.

I SERIOUSLY CAN’T WAIT TILL THE REST OF THE MOVIES! WHOO GO THE TWILIGHT SERIES! GO KRISTEN STEWART And GO ROB PATTINSON! OH AND TAYLOR LAUTNER!

  • Elena

    Yeeeeeees!
I am really glad that they are going to be making Breaking dawn into movie as it is my favorite book and the logical ending of the story. Without this movie the serious would be incomplete.

  • Talitha

Not to nitpick, but it’s Eclipse that’s currently being shot in Vancouver. New Moon is done.

Has Summit really released an official statment? I don’t want to get my hopes up.

  • Deb

I can’t imagine Summit not doing Breaking Dawn. We all read the book for the weddng, honeymoon, and Bella’s transformation. Everything else in the book is between Fantastic 4 and the X-men. We’ll still go along for the ride even if the fourth book is not the strongest plotline in the series. Also the PG audience Rosenberg is talking about will most certainly be PG-13 by the time Breaking Dawn is released. She needs to stick to the story and let parents worry about the rating.

    IT CANT BE A PG.
    THERES
    SEX
    GORE
    AND
    MORE
    SEX!
HOW CAN THAT BE A PG.
    PG 13 OR R RATING!!
IF THEY CUT THOSE BITS OUT I’LL SCREAM!

I am glad they are doing breaking dawn and that they are doing it in two parts, There is alot in the book, first (BD) should be Beela’s story and Jacob’s part two (BD) should be Bella’s last story. (Hope you understood that lol) Anyway I don’t think you should cut it down to PG and there is not that much sex in the book, trust me I’ve readed books with sex and these’s books are PG (In my eyes). Put an Age on the movie if you must. Because trust me when the DVD comes out the kids will end up seeing it anyway. I was shocked to find out my son when he was only 10 years old was at his mates place for the night and they watched “American Pie” So there are worst things for our young kids to see. But I can’t care as long as you make it!!!!!! lol

  • juliacullen

I’m super happy that they are making breaking dawn!!!! Just like Elena said the series wouldnt be complete. I mean there’s not that much sex in it. I’m only 13 and I’ve read books worse and seen movies worse!!! Go ahead rate it R but it won’t keep kids from going to see it!!!

  • aonne

Awww…i wouldn’t want it to be only 2 hours…i just hope they would try to make it longer like 3 hours!! I can’t enjoy it if it’s a short movie. Then that means they’ll leave out parts from the book!
But i’m glad rob and kristen would be in the breaking dawn movie…and i also hope hey won’t cast someone else to play a character that was already cast that would stink.Cause i only hear rob and kristen would come back to play their characters again but nothing from taylor, nikki, ashley, jackson, kellan or the peter and Elizabeth!

Breaking Dawn is my Sister’s boyfriend’s favorite book in Twilight saga

  • Laura

I really don’t think they should aim it at the PG age. To be honest, I think their target audience is more above 12 year olds. I know for certain the none of my 11 year old sister’s friends have even read the first book, let alone got to the last one. The book has those elements in in for a purpose, it’s what makes the book, and without it I just don’t think it would be quite the same.

  • Bonner

They cant change breaking dawn even if the viewers are young there are some of us who dont want it to be changed

  • ANGIE

THEY NEED TO HAVE A RATED AND AN UNRATED VERSION. MOST OF THE FANS ARE OF AGE AND WANT TO SEE WHAT THEY READ IN THE BOOK…THOSE ARE THE MOST EXCITING PARTS OF THE BOOK…THERE ARE GOING TO BE A LOT OF UPSET FANS

  • Hannah

IT CANNOT SERIOUSLY BE A PG, NO WAY, 15 OR 12!!!

  • Cherie

PG? Are they kidding me? What about New Moon? How can you PG That? How many 12 year olds have experienced that kind of feeling after breaking up?

No my friends, the movies should stick to the books and not change one bit. You would lose the audience that now is getting crazy over the books ans movies.

  • adrienne

please follow the book Breaking Dawn as it was written. S.Meyers wrote the book for younger people, they bought it, read it’; sex, gore, graphics et al, now why change the movie? You’re killing the entire meaning of the Twilight series if you water it down. It’s what all the fans ,ALL the fans have been waiting for!! Young and older. It could be a good flick if you pull out some stops and follow the book. Stephanie should incorporate some of Edward’s thoughts into the movie as in Midnight Sun.I think the first Twilight would’ve been better from Edwards point of view because it was way more interesting from his perspective. Bella kind of zombied around in the movie and she didn’t have too many moments of torment as Edward did throughout the film. At least it never registered on her facial expressions, like she wasn’t there 100% sometimes.

  • emmmm

noo! they shouldnt soften the film down! just make it a 12 or something.. for the PG take things out like they did with bruno etc.. people want to pay good money to watch what they read in the books!

  • delora

I am so excited to hear there’s talk about the 4th movie. I am a full time nurse , married, with two kids and i read all 4 boooks in 8 days. It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. I didn’t even think I would enjoy them that much!! I am a huge fan of the twilight cast, and am reading the books for the second time lol, ofcourse I’ve watched movie a hundred times and listen to soundtrac daily. I am greatful to Stephenie Myers, Bella’s world is more interesting than mine sometimes :)

  • Lindsay

Im excited to hear they are making breaking dawn into a movie, but i think they need to have everything said and shown from the book to the movie. i say it’s not fair to have the movie be PG since most of us have read what happends to bella we want to see it happen. they should at least put it as PG-13 at least b/c we all want to see what happends to bella and the wonderfull life she is going to have with edward. Also its not a bad thing to have a movie last longer than 90minutes, the movie Titanic was the longest movie i have ever seen but it was a good movie, and i would pay any price to see it . so what im trying to say is make the movie long and at least PG-13

I think that they should leave everything alone like it is in the book and then they can make another movie and change it cause some fans like the verison of the book and others may not so I dont think they should change it one bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • adrienne

I THINK BECAUSE THE TWILIGHT BOOK WAS ALTERED SO MUCH IN THE MOVIE[ AND A LOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAINED ABOUT THAT ] THAT SUMMIT OR WHOEVER SHOULD FOLLOW THE BOOK TO THE T. lET”S FACE IT,THEY HAVE A LARGER AND OLDER FAN BASE AND EVEN THE YOUNGER FANS ARE PLEADING TO FOLLOW THE BOOK. wE ALL READ THE BOOK AS IS, THAT’S WHY WE WANT TO SEE IT ON FILM OR IT WILL BE SOME KIND OF RIP OFF; WE’VE BEEN WAITING A LONG TIME FOR THIS,sTEPHANIE, JUST IN CASE YOU DECIDE TO DO ANOTHER SAGA SOMETIMES. bE TRUE TO THE BOOK, AND MAKE IT IN ONE TWO HOUR FILM; DON’T BREAK THE STORY APART, IT’LL KILL THE MOMENTUM.

  • Joda

I would like to see them working with Stephenie heavily involved in Breaking Dawn. It is so involved that it would be better having two installments, I think.
I would not want to see it rushed. Pity though that they say it will be PG, after all this is where the intense drives come into play, with Bella being more than Edward’s equal. Don’t know how PG you can be about that …?

  • luana

Molto spesso si puo’ far capire una certa situazione senza per forza cadere nella volgarità, quindi, tutto quello che c’è scritto nel libro può essere rappresentato nel film.

  • Katherine

I don’t see how the movie would be anything like the book with out the violence and the gore. THAT’S A BIG PART OF THE BOOK! You have people of ALL ages watching this movie, but if you don’t want your kids to see that stuff they shouldn’t be able to read it. It’s just as gory and descriptive as what could be placed in the movie and it’s a horrible idea to dilute the movie, we are dealing with Vampires, HELLO how are you NOT going to include some of the important parts of a vampire “lifestyle”. If the movie is dulled down I can promise a loss of a large amount of adult fans (and believe me there are ALOT of them).

  • Amy

The Twilight Saga film adapations are terrible enough as it is. If they cut out the sex and the gore from the fourth adapation someone is going to get hurt. Of course they have to sugercoat all of the actual good stuff. BD shouldn’t even be made into a film, leave it alone you vultures.

  • LANA ADAMS

WHEN I READ BREAKING DAWN I DID WONDER HOW THEY WOULD MAKE THE BOOK INTO A FILM COS OF BELLAS PREGNANCY AND HER TRANSFORMATION INTO A VAMPIRE. WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT THOUGH AND IT WOULD BE A SHAME TO LEAVE THE FILMS WITHOUT A PROPER ENDING FOR BELLE N EDWARD. TIME WILL TELL!!!!

  • LANA ADAMS

ALSO, AFTER READING BACK ON PREVIOUS COMMENTS, 90 MINS AINT LONG ENOUGH, NEITHER IS 2 HOURS SO Y NOT MAKE IT AN EPIC AND GIVE IT A LONG RUN TIME LIKE LORD O THE RINGS AND HARRY POTTER?? THERE ARE WAYS!!
