Mariah Carey is sticking her fingers up at the Grammys — the singer won’t be accepting a gong at next year’s award ceremony.

The Touch My Body hitmaker — who has won a mere five awards out of 21 nominations since 1991 — has taken herself out of the running for nominations.

Carey will release her latest album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel on September 29, missing the Grammy cut off date by just one day.

“Mariah’s been shafted so many times before that it’s like a big ‘Kiss my butt’ to the Grammy folks,” a source told the New York Daily News.

“She doesn’t need the awards, because her career is already so successful.”

The 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to air from the Los Angeles Staples Center on January 31 2010.
