Rachel McAdams: ‘My Success is Down to Fate, Hard Work’
Rachel McAdams says her success is down to a combination of hard work and luck.
The actress — who can soon be seen starring opposite Aussie actor Eric Bana in new movie The Time Traveler’s Wife — says although she has worked hard to get where she is, some of it has been down to forces we cannot know.
“Well, just being here and having this life just goes to show there’s a balance of some hand guiding you somewhere, and at the same time, your own free will and taking the bull by the horns,” she said.
“I do think it’s a combination of the two and that gets you wherever you are. And I think there’s a little bit of control, but not much!”
McAdams, 30, recently revealed she was a nightmare as a teenager — because she was headstrong and didn’t like being told what to do.
“I wasn’t terribly rebellious in the traditional sense but I guess I was very headstrong,” she said. “I don’t like to be told what to do.
“I wasn’t going out and breaking the law, I just wanted to be my own boss. But I have changed — a little bit.”
