Taylor Swift has revealed why she speaks about her breakups — she owes it to her fans.

The singer — who has dated Jonas Brothers star Joe Jonas – discusses the end of her relationships in her music.

And she says it’s because she likes sharing details of her life with her legions of followers.

“I felt like I owed it to my fans,” Swift said. “They’re used to me sharing what I’m doing and who I’m writing my songs about. I’ve never hidden things before, so I figured why start now?”

Swift talked about about her split from Jonas in her single Forever and Always, and she insists she doesn’t regret it. “I can’t wish I hadn’t written a song about someone, because if I hadn’t, the song wouldn’t exist. I just don’t find any joy in writing about things I haven’t been through,” she told Top of the Pops magazine.

Swift recently insisted she’ll continue to write songs about her ex-boyfriends, even if it ruins her chances of bagging herself another man.

“I don’t care if my honesty in my songs has limited my opportunities with guys,” she said. “I’m having so much fun right now I don’t care.

“Besides, a guy who knows he is not going to hurt me and knows he’s not going to do anything bad won’t be afraid of it because if they don’t want me to write songs about them then they shouldn’t do bad things.”
