Michael Jackson’s Doctor ‘Is Suicide Risk’

Posted by Adam

Conrad MurrayMichael Jackson‘s family is worried that his personal physician, Dr Conrad Murray, will commit suicide to avoid prison, it has been claimed.

The National Enquirer alleges that Murray — who is currently under investigation over The King of Pop’s sudden death on June 25 — will be unable to cope with the media scrutiny and revelations about his private life so will kill himself to escape the shame.

“Michael’s family is demanding justice, but they worry that all this may be too much for Murray and that he’ll kill himself to escape the shame,” an insider told the tabloid.

“Even if Murray’s cleared, it’s doubtful he’ll ever work again as a doctor. He’s going to be tainted with Michael’s death for the rest of his life.

“He’s already getting death threats from outraged fans who accuse him of killing Jackson.

“He believes the threats are very real. He’s hired his own bodyguards and rarely leaves his Las Vegas home for fear of being killed.

“And if he’s tried and convicted, there will be a lot of people in prison who want to ‘take care of’ the guy who killed Michael.

“Michael’s family is just hoping Murray has the guts to face the music and not take the easy way out.”

Murray remains a central figure in Jackson’s death.

He reportedly told investigators he administered a fatal dose of the anesthetic Propofol to Jackson in his rented Beverly Hills mansion in the hours before his death.

The doctor’s offices in Houston and Las Vegas have both been raided as authorities seek to find what, if any drugs, including Propofol, were illegally prescribed to the tragic star and if that is what led to his untimely death.

On Monday, Jackson’s death was ruled a homicide.

The homicide finding — meaning death at the hands of another — is only one of five rulings a coroner can make in a death investigation. Among the others: natural, suicide, accident, and “could not be determined.”

It makes it likely criminal charges will be brought against Murrary. Detectives have been investigating whether the physician’s decision to administer Jackson propofol outside a hospital and as a sleep aid would be classified as negligence for an involuntary manslaughter charge.

After 30 years of witnessing physicians behaving badly (see Medical Maniacs website for details) I believe public interest -in just this kind of case – is of enormous value. Over the years my medic partners & I have responded to some of the most outrageous physician-originated messes you might imagine: Patients at deaths door because the MD didn’t think it was necessary to read the nurses’notes; Doctors on the scene of traffic accidents acting like chimps at a carnival; Abortions on girlfriends against their will; Dead wives & mistresses.

A sad footnote to the saga of Conrad Murray, is that the story is only significant due to the fame of the patient. The case itself is pathetically common. Physicians are complicit in well over 100,000 patient deaths a year. Michael Jackson? “E Pluribus Unum.”
