Robert Pattinson Cast Aside!

Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson fans will be bitterly disappointed when they go and see Twilight sequel New Moon — because the actor British actor is hardly in it!

The flick’s director, Chris Weitz, says he tried to strike the right balance between pleasing Pattinson’s legions of fans and honoring the original plot outlined in Stephenie Meyer‘s book.

“[We wanted to avoid] just randomly inserting Rob throughout the movie in a back-at-the-ranch sort of way, which would just be about box office and us being worried about whether people would deal with the darkness of the second book,” Weitz told MTV. “People are actually very ready for [the dark] aspect of it.”

In New Moon, Pattinson’s vampire character Edward Cullen appears as a subjective figure in girlfriend Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) imagination.

“You’ll see quite a lot of Rob in the film, but it’s seen subjectively, through Bella’s eyes,” Weitz added. “It’s also in dreams that she has of him as well.

“It strikes this very fine balance between too much Rob and too little Rob… Well, I know for a lot of people there’s no such thing as too much Rob. But we’ve got a nice dose of Taylor Lautner to sweeten any Rob deficiencies. It is a disease that can only be treated with Vitamin T, for Taylor.”

New Moon hits movie theaters November 20.

    What a story .. I think they better stay with the script because, that was the story all the fans fall for..

    They are both nice and the hole movie is full of nice and beautifull people.. This movie will stay for ever just like Greace in his time..

    It’s a beautifull story for young and old and Robert needs a breake ;D!!

    The movie is about the BOOK. Not Rob. Not Kristen. Not Taylor. Those guys are merely the ACTORS acting out the characters in the book and they are doing a good job. Dorlocita is amused.

    I know that they need to stay true to the book but I’m glad that there will be more Edward(Rob) in New Moon. Taylor is cute but he’s not Rob who is HOT!!

    Great! We will have some Rob! Even in the books, which I know by heart by now, Edward is present when Bella is thinking of him, or remembering scenes etc. Great idea to put Edward in her mind and not just his voice. It would have been very good for Bella to also see him a bit in her mind. she missed him a lot.

    rob should get a break. He is gonna be in Eclipce and Breaking Dawn. Calm down peeps! We should give Taylor a chance to show how HOTT he is and let him shine. This movie is about Taylor(jacob) and Kristen(bella) not bout rob(edward). LOVE YOU TAYLOR!!! :) :)
