Robert Pattinson might be the World’s Sexiest Man — but he isn’t the sexiest onscreen vampire!

The Twilight actor has been beaten in Hello! magazine’s “sexiest” on-screen vampire poll by Angel star David Boreanaz.

Boreanaz beat Pattinson by winning 34 per cent of the vote — just 22 votes more than the hunky Brit, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight.

Also featured in the poll are True Blood actors Alexander Skarsgard, who came in third place for his role as sheriff Eric Northman, and Stephen Moyer, who won fifth place for his role as vampire Bill Compton.

Brad Pitt came fourth, for his vampire role in Interview With The Vampire. In tenth place was Wesley Snipes, for his role in the Blade trilogy.

Pattinson, 23, recently revealed that he never thought starring in Twilight would lead him to become a sex symbol.

“I’m so surprised things have actually worked out the way they have,” he said. “I am just thinking the whole time: ‘I don’t really have the right personality to fit into that kind of role’.

“I’m not really afraid of it though because I don’t really know how to play up that aspect of it. I don’t know if I could ever really be cast in a heartthrob role really — apart from Twilight, which I didn’t really know was a heartthrob role. I really don’t feel I am one.”
