Tori Amos: ‘Lady GaGa Won’t Be Around For Long’

Tori AmosTori Amos is sayin’ what we’re all thinkin’ — Lady GaGa is a novelty act who likely won’t be around for very much longer.

The flame-haired 46-year-old is adamant the Poker Face singer has a limited shelf life.

“She’s what I call a meteor — singers who entertain people for a while,” said Amos, whose recent gig in London BORED ME TO TEARS. “Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that.

“But then there are people like Neil Young who show up at Glastonbury 40 years into their career. And that’s a very different kind of artist.

“Neil Young doesn’t have to get his bum out on stage!

“The question is, will Lady GaGa be playing alongside Neil Young at Glastonbury in 20 years time?

“She wants to entertain people. Right now, half the world is depressed and they need to be entertained. So her timing’s perfect.”

    I like Lady Gaga. Some of her songs are artistically and literally perfect (like Pokerface). I sincerely doubt that she will disappear altogether. She has an artistic flare that will become very, very influential in all areas of society – in the end. Gaga is the Salvitore Dali of the music business. She is more than just a meteor. She is a new satillite thats orbiting and won’t go away in a hurry.

    Tori Amos, on the other hand, is extremely jealous and she only had two hits in Aussie Land. She had her chance and blew it.

    Twenty years ago, they said the same about Kylie Minogue. Now, she is a cultural icon in the Western world.
