Mariah Carey has twice postponed the release of her eagerly-awaited new album because she fears it isn’t good enough.

The Touch My Body hitmaker refuses to allow the record to be released in its current state because it isn’t up to her usual standard of perfection.

Mariah also believes that she’s too fat to go on tour and promote the record, sources say.

“Mariah’s a perfectionist. That’s what’s causing all the delays,” an insider tells Britain’s Now magazine. “The album isn’t good enough yet, she isn’t thin enough yet… and nothing’s good enough yet.

“Mariah used to be an intense workaholic, but she’s focused on marriage now. She’s just putting herself under way too much pressure on all sides.

“She’s afraid she’s going to humiliate herself again, that people are going to say she’s too old for a comeback or that she’s not as good as she used to be.

“Mariah wasn’t prepared for the barrage of negativity that followed Obsessed. When she thinks about doing TV appearances or whatever, she gets so strung out that she can’t possibly do it.”
