Robert Downey Jr. Puts up a Fight in Sherlock Holmes

Robert Downey JnrRobert Downey Jr. loved filming Guy Ritchie‘s new movie Sherlock Holmes — because it gave him the chance to go “toe-to-toe” with men he would never dream of challenging — guys much bigger than him.

The actor says he never raises his fists in real life because he is too small to start a fight.

“Sherlock Holmes has about five major action sequences and unless there was something that was hair-raisingly inappropriate for me to attempt I did all my own stuff,” he said. “I love it because I am a martial arts guy and I love getting in there.

“I don’t want to give anything away but I go toe-to-toe with some people I have no business messing with.”

Sherlock Holmes hits theaters later this year.

Robert, 44, recently revealed that he “loved” filming in London.

“I loved it,” said the two-time Academy Award-nominated star. “It was an incredible, positively humiliating experience for me seeing how, having always had a certain idea of England and Pinewood Studios and lousy finger sandwiches at three o’clock and all that, it was actually so civilized and an amazing learning experience for me.”
