50 Cent: ‘Call me Curtis’

50 Cent50 Cent wants to revert to his own name, Curtis Jackson.

The rapper says he no longer wants to be referred to as 50 Cent.

“The aggression that translated the strongest in my first album is what hip-hop culture looks for. It’s a persona,” he said. “I’m not under the same circumstances I was under when I worked in music, so it feels completely different.”

The In Da Club hitmaker — who used his background as a violent drugs dealer to help further his rap career — was being interviewed as he launched 50th Law with author Robert Greene, who inspired Curtis with his previous book, The 48 Laws Of Power.

Greene revealed that he was “really surprised” when he met the rap star.

“I was expecting someone who would be intimidating and scaring but he’s actually the nicest person,” he said. “We had this interesting rapport, even though we came from completely different backgrounds.

“So we thought, ‘Let’s bring our two minds together, our two different experiences, and create a book.’”
