British actress Kate Beckinsale attended the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie Whiteout at the Mann Village Theater in Westwood, CA, Wednesday night.Whiteout — which is produced by Robert Downey Jr’s wife Susan — hits American movie theaters on September 11.

Beckinsale, 36 — whose character in Whiteout is US Marshal Carrie Stetko, a fearless woman who follows a killer to Antarctica just as sunlight is about to disappear for six months — recently revealed that was petrified she would die if she drank alcohol while making the movie.

“I never really drink but even if I did we were all told it wasn’t a good idea in such cold conditions,” she said.

“They say that you’re more prone to get frostbite or hypothermia or sudden adult death syndrome after drinking so we all thought it best to give it a miss.”
