Paula Abdul ‘Furious She’s Been Replaced by Ellen DeGeneres’
Paula Abdul is not a happy bunny!
The eccentric entertainer is reportedly furious that she’s been permanently replaced on American Idol by Ellen DeGeneres.
“Privately, Paula is very upset,” a source said. “She’s never going to admit it publicly but this stung.
“Paula likes Ellen and she doesn’t want to say a negative word about her and she won’t.
“But the news surprised Paula and upset her — and she had no advance warning and heard about it just like everyone else.”
Ellen said Thursday that she hopes Abdul won’t mind that she’s replacing her. “I hope Paula is okay with it,” she told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show. “I don’t want anybody to think I took Paula’s job away.
“I feel like she was gone and then everybody was looking for somebody else, then I stepped in. I certainly don’t want to be that person that is the evil taking Paula’s job away.”
The next season of American Idol begins in January.
