Michael Jackson Documentary Trailer to Premiere at MTV VMAs

The trailer for Michael Jackson’s This Is It documentary will premiere at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The clip of This Is It — which details the late pop icon’s rehearsals for the 50 shows he was due to perform in London from July — will air at 9pm in the US on Sunday night.
“There’s obviously lots of emotion around Michael and the memory of Michael, but I think it’s going to be a pretty celebratory kind of night all around,” said VMAs executive producer Dave Sirulnick.
The movie’s website will go live at the same time the trailer is shown, with This Is It hitting cinemas worldwide for two weeks on October 28.
The film includes footage of Michael — who died of acute Propofol intoxication on June 25 — dancing on stage, and behind-the-scenes clips of him between April and June this year as he prepared for the concerts.
Meanwhile, Michael’s sister Janet — who is performing a tribute to her brother at the VMAs and is believed to be opening the ceremony — recently revealed that she hasn’t watched TV since the superstar singer’s sudden passing.
“It will drive you crazy,” she says. “People can have rhinoceros skin, but there’s a point when something’s going to hurt you.
“Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven’t watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, How’s Obama doing? I haven’t read a newspaper. On top of that, [we've lost] a family member.”
The VMAs, hosted by British comic star Russell Brand, are taking place at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.
