Paula Abdul Wishes Ellen DeGeneres The “Best of Luck” on Idol

Paula Abdul insists she isn’t bitter that Ellen DeGeneres has replaced her on American Idol.
Abdul took to her Twitter Thursday to wish DeGeneres the best of luck.
“I think Ellen will b a gr8 judge on Idol,” Paula wrote. “She is wildly funny, talented and I wish her the best of luck!”
On Thursday, Showbiz Spy reported that Abdul was “very upset” DeGeneres had been drafted in to fill her boots.
“Privately, Paula is very upset,” a source said. “She’s never going to admit it publicly but this stung.
“Paula likes Ellen and she doesn’t want to say a negative word about her and she won’t.
“But the news surprised Paula and upset her — and she had no advance warning and heard about it just like everyone else.”
Ellen said Thursday that she hopes Abdul won’t mind that she’s replacing her. “I hope Paula is okay with it,” she told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show. “I don’t want anybody to think I took Paula’s job away.
“I feel like she was gone and then everybody was looking for somebody else, then I stepped in. I certainly don’t want to be that person that is the evil taking Paula’s job away.”
The next season of American Idol begins in January.
